For Sidekix, CSR means giving people who can use an extra push to get a job, that extra push. For us, this is a double-edged sword. In a scarce labour market, any help is welcome and happiness at work is something everyone wants. With social employer IBN, we have started a concrete cooperation to guide people with a distance to the labour market to a full-fledged job at Sidekix. A nice recent example is our new colleague in the packaging department who, with the help of IBN, the Bureau for Physical Labour and some simple adjustments to the workplace, has found a great place to work at Sidekix. Learning school for young people
Youth is the future, as the saying goes. This is true in theory, of course, but in practice it is often more difficult. Not everyone finds their way from school to work in a straight line. This also applies to young people in Uden and the surrounding area. With some extra help and coaching from the Leerschool Uden, many youngsters between the ages of 16 and 25 find their way in education or on the job market again. And Sidekix is happy to contribute to that. The first contact between Sidekix and Leerschool Uden was made by a young person who really wanted to work as a courier. Although Sidekix did not have a suitable position for him, we pointed him to another organisation that was looking for a courier.
As a thank you for thinking along, the youngsters from the Leerschool Uden went to clean Sidekix's premises. They liked it so much that a permanent agreement was made, with the young people coming to clean it every month.
The young people now have an extra location to roll up their sleeves and Sidekix has a clean site. And young people looking for work after the coaching programme can always apply at Sidekix.
