Last Friday, Sidekix's office at Loopkantstraat 19 in Uden was transformed into a special exhibition space with works of art made and for sale by people with intellectual disabilities. We look back on a pleasant and well-attended day, during which almost €4,500 was raised for the artists. Thanks to the many hundreds of visitors én the talents of Kunstfabriek Oss (Dichterbij), Serviceteam Zeeland (Amarant), Dagbesteding in Overasselt (Dichterbij) and Dagbesteding in Beek en Donk (ORO).
This annual exhibition, the Art-Inn, is part of Noble-Art, a CSR initiative of Sidekix. Through this, the company offers artists with intellectual disabilities the space and opportunity to sell their works of art. The full amount of 4,500 euros thereby benefits the artists. For the purchase of new materials, a guided mini-vacation or a nice trip.
This year also a remarkable number of visitors from Uden and surroundings found their way to the 8th edition of this Art-Inn. Throughout the day it was a coming and going of enthusiastic visitors who sometimes took the largest sizes of paintings home with them on their bikes. The enthusiasm of the artists present to praise their works of art and to start working on new ones on the spot was contagious. " An unforgettably fun experience," said one of the visitors.
Our colleague Marion School, initiator from Sidekix, is very pleased with the large turnout and the conviviality that this day brought. "It is so special to see how involved everyone is with our initiative. Although it was quite busy at times, the atmosphere remained very relaxed and there was plenty of room to quietly look at all the works and have a chat with the artists. The artists also enjoyed themselves immensely," said Marion.
The organization looks back fondly on a successful day and is already looking forward to the next Art-Inn.
