Sidekix strives for energy-efficient and environmentally friendly (production) processes for our heroes and clients. Therefore, we are always looking for sustainable ways of working and keep our eyes open for unique recycling opportunities. When the Uden theatre association 'Theater Naat Piek' approached us to ask if we could supply them with quality cardboard, we saw not only the chance to support a local business, but also the sustainable opportunity to give cardboard a second life.
Theatre Naat Piek is a theatre association set up and run by volunteers. For one of the upcoming productions, the volunteers need cardboard to make the decor. And although we at Sidekix work with machines that minimise cardboard waste, products and stock regularly arrive in large, sturdy shipping boxes. Normally, these boxes are put through the shredder and then used as filling material. But to help Theater Naat Piek, we offered them this high-quality cardboard. A sustainable solution, and we love it at Sidekix. "This way, the cardboard gets a 'second life' before it is recycled," says Louisa Mokhtari, Communications Officer at Sidekix. "This is not only cost-effective for Theater Naat Piek, but also much better for the environment. We are happy to be able to help the theatre association in this way."
The cardboard will be used for the theatre production 'Repelsteeltje en de Blinde Prinses', which will be performed next July in the outdoor theatre of Theater Naat Piek.
